Obituary of Keith Barr

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Keith Barr announces the sudden passing of a wonderful father, brother, uncle and friend. Keith passed away suddenly Friday, August 6, 2010 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary after suffering a massive heart attack. Born on October 31, 1943 in Vermilion, Alberta He lived on the family farm and showed cattle and helped with farming. He moved to Edmonton and started with Greyhound. later moving to Calgary. He started with the Calgary Stampede and worked his way up the ladder. He was Assistant General Manager and loved his 21 years working with his “family” there. He then moved to Olds and helped on his daughter’s farm. He was a member of the Olds Agriculture Society for a few years. He then “retired” working at the Olds Golf Course cheerfully mowing the fairways. Keith is loved and rmembered by his daughters: Shannon (Eric) McBeath-Barr of Olds and Kimberley (Todd) Barr of Calgary; Grandsons: Ryan & Robert of Olds and Tristan of Calgary; Sisters: Marion Eggen of Edmonton, Hazel McLeod of Calgary and Louse Barr of Sherwood Park; Brother John (Heather) Barr of Vermilion; Shannon and Kimberly’s mother Barbara Gosse as well as numerous nieces & nephews He was Predeceased by his father Manson Barr and mother Vera (Lewis) Barr and Brother Robert Barr all of Vermilion. A Celebration of Keith's life will be held at the Olds Golf Course in Olds, Alberta on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at 1:00 p.m.
