We are so saddened by the loss of Carol. Jeff remembers growing up alongside Ken and Carol. Carol intersected in our boys lives many times over their younger years, always professional, caring and compassionate. In recent years we’ve spent summer camping holidays together. Our hearts go out to Ken, Brandy and Kristopher and their children.

For about four years, in the late 1980's and early 90's, Carol, Joan (Tupper) Pattison, and I worked together for Caritas Services, a behavioural outreach team owned by psychologist Andre Piquette, in northeastern Alberta. We provided positive supports to individuals who had intellectual disabilities and their families, staff and other support workers in their homes, organizations, schools, day cares or other settings. Carol’s territory covered Vermilion to Lloydminster and north to Bonnyville and Cold Lake. Many will remember her as smart, full of life, having a great sense of humour, and with a compassionate and caring soul. It was such a pleasure to have her as part of our team and, quite honestly, we were never able to replace her. She made such a difference in the lives of so many people. Over the years, we never lost touch and so, on behalf of Andre Piquette and myself, I say. for the last time, farewell, Carol and rest easy! Susan Brazeau, and Andre Piquette.

Carol was a former colleague of mine. Her zest for life was like no other. She always seemed to have this bottomless pit of energy that had her fit so much into a day. I admired her love of everything and everyone that she came across. She made everyone that came into her day feel special and heard. Always making time for you even if there was none. My thoughts are with the family that Carol was so proud of and loved deeply.

Another family member gone too soon. I remember meeting her in my family home when we were both small children. Her Dad and I were first cousins. I never really got to know Carol, only having met her at occasional family gatherings but she did leave a very positive impression on me. My condolences to all of her family. So sad to hear about Carols passing. As a former colleague , Carol was such a welcoming soul and passionate educator. Her genuine regard for people, her spontaneous humour and her integrity is something that left a mark with me. She represented that old school generation of social servant but with a hippie new aged flare with all her education- such a wonderful combination. My thoughts are with her family. Although you’ll never fill the hole in your heart , please know Carols impact was far reaching.

My sincere and deepest condolences! Carol was a great co-worker, so kind, funny, a fabulous cook. We enjoyed fun office gatherings and road trips. Carol and I always seemed to be on the same wavelength and there were a lot of great laughs. She will be missed!
