We, and many of the minor hockey and figure skating families from north of the river, remember Headley as “Mr. Dewberry”. He was a fixture around the old arena as the fixer of the old stationary engine, ran the ice plant, a referee and all the other needs of his talents. We thank the Dennill’s family for sharing your husband, father and grandfather during those long winter months. Our condolences

Anne and family, please accept our sincerest condolences on the passing of a truly fine man. To us Headley was more than a friend, businessman and community champion. Noteable was his leadership: be it family values, education, commerce, athletics or sporting events. We are honored to have known him and blessed with warm memories.

From Jan and Larry Hancock here. On behalf of the Hancock family we pass on our sincerest condolences to you all, the Dennill family. Your Dad and ours shared so many similar traits. They were of the same era, they both stepped into and ran successful small town Massey Harris and Ferguson Dealerships sharing customer needs with no competitive feelings ontowards each other. They were both deeply involved with their respective communities. Numerous hours were spent by both managing the business of their village and more importantly the the health and well being of the children of their community. They were honest, caring and respective individuals. We know how we miss our Father since his passing so we can understand your grief regarding your Dad. Again, our best. I can remember well one late night in my teens, upon arriving home to find Dad up and waiting for me. He told me "Headley had called" and that maybe he should talk to me about tearing up the street of his town! I will guarantee you they were both guilty of the same in their time.

Our condolences to your family. I have a number of memories of Headley. Many, watching him playing hockey in Vermilion, a long time ago. Seeing him in later years I was always reminded of my Grandpa Dennill (Albert Dennill). There was that Dennill resemblance. Headley was a true sportsman. When I would see him the conversation was always about hockey and ball. I will miss my chats at the Vermilion Fair. Our thoughts are with your family.
