Obituary of Hilda "Joan" Nielsen

On Thursday, April 28, 2022 Hilda "Joan" Nielsen, passed away peacefully at home, at the age of 85 years. Joan was born in Lloydminster Hospital to John and Deedie Ford, on January 18, 1937. In 1955, she was married to Gordon Edmund Nielsen and they farmed in the Marshall District. Five children were born to them: Valerie, John, Terry, Beverly and Christina. Joan is survived by her children, Valerie Low, John Nielsen (Leslie Sutherland), Terry Nielsen, Beverly Nielsen and Christina Nielsen (Steve Hunter). Dear Grandmother to Cailean Low (Rachael), Gavin Low (Jacqueline), Amber (Kevin) Sylvestre, Roy Nielsen, Jordan (Viki) Curr, Steve (Bella) Curr, Rebecca Donnell (Jeff), Megan Gravel (Jacob Kelling), Derek Gravel, Jake (Ashley) Gravel, Angelique Hunter (Nathan Schofield.) Great Grandmother to Chaz, Trinity, Luna, Hayden, Cohen, Lydia, Avah, Alecks, Keaton, William and Elsie. Joan is also survived by her brother-in-law, Ken (Thelma) Nielsen and many wonderful nieces, nephews and their families. Joan is predeceased by her loving husband Gordon, her parents, Brother John and his wife Joan (Jackson) Ford, Sister Octavia and her husband Norman Nielsen, nephews Laurie Nielsen, Jim Nielsen, In-laws Hans and Phyllis (Mclennan) Nielsen, Step Mother Kathleen (Stephens) Nielsen, Sister-in-law Laura (Nielsen) and her Husband Earl Pollard. In honoring Joan's wishes, no formal service will be held.
