Obituary of Leonard Irving Bogle

On Tuesday, July 17, 2018 Mr. Leonard Irving Bogle passed away peacefully at the Wainwright Health Centre at the age of 82 years after a long battle with Parkinson's and cancer. He is known as "Len" to his family and closest friends. Len was born Wednesday, June 10, 1936 in Kerrobert, SK to Irving and Anna Bogle. Len married Shirley MacDonald, of Montreal, QC, together they would spend time serving in the military and to this union came two beautiful children. Len's military service would last for 35 years. In his retirement he would spend many hours spoiling his pets and in the care and concern of other animals through the work of the SPCA as well as was proud to be a Lifetime Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Wainwright Branch 29 and a Lifetime Member of the Lions Club. He is loved and remembered by his daughter, Sandie (Nick) Sparrow of Medicine Hat, AB; son, Ron (Norma) Bogle of Victoria, BC; grandchildren, Christie and Alex Sparrow; beloved pets, Ching and Shrimp; as well as dear friends and extended family. He is predeceased by his wife, Shirley, parents; Irving and Bessie; and sister, Elaine. A funeral service in honour of the late Mr. Len Bogle will be conducted from the Grace United Church, Wainwright, AB on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Anne Magrath officiating. Interment to follow at Wainwright Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to the SPCA or the War Amps.
