Obituary of Freda Grace Phillips

Freda Grace Phillips was born Thursday, January 14, 1943 in Welland, Ontario to Fred and Nelda (nee Stewart) Gurnett. She passed away at Wainwright Health Centre, Long Term Care at 75 years of age on Wednesday, November 14, 2018. Through the last few years of her life, when she took ill, she displayed fortitude. Freda's family will also remember her heart of commitment as she loved on them and served in her jobs; demonstrating hard work and loyalty. Mostly though, Freda was an easy-going person. Freda will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of fifty years, Maurice; children and their spouses, Kevin (Lorna) Gurnett, Merle (Wendy) Phillips, Rhonda† (Lee) VanKoughnett and Laura (Bill) Lancaster; eleven grandchildren, Lane, Steven, Christopher (Dana), Amanda (Colin), Bradley, Erin, Bailey, Morgan, Tia, Taylor and Brody; two great-grandchildren, Sophie and Nolan; one brother, George (Armanda) Gurnett; sisters-in-law, Debbie Gurnett, Irene Gurnett and Doreen Gurnett; as well as extended family and friends. Freda was predeceased by her daughter, Rhonda VanKoughnett; granddaughter, Kiera VanKoughnett; three brothers, Wilson, Richard and Stewart Gurnett; and all her brothers and sisters-in-law from the Phillips family. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, November 19, 2018, 2:00 p.m.from the Wainwright Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Ryan Wood officiating.
