Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Lake family I did not personally know Shane but I am sure Natasha did and from what I heard he was a wonderful young man. Words cannot describe what it is like to lose a child I know this personally. I can only hope that Shanes parents find some comfort in family and friends in this time of need. I am sure my daughter Natasha will welcome Shane to his new home in heaven with open arms. You are all in my thoughts and prayers stay strong. Shane you will be truly missed rest in peace young man

I didn't really know Shane, but this past summer we had the opportunity to chat with him a bit at Riverdale in July. He was camped there with some buddies right across from where (Tyler our son) was camped. We heard him laugh and right away I thought I recognized his laugh...he laughed just like Ryan. My son went over and started chatting with him and yes he said he was Ryan's brother... We chatted with him for a bit...seemed like a really nice guy. When I think of Shane...that is how I will remember him, at the campsite with his friends laughing and having a good time. I extend my sympathies to his family. So sorry for your loss.

To the Lake family I am so terribly sorry for the loss of such a great kid and a fine young man. Every time that Shane was in my presence he always brought a smile to my face and a chuckle was not far away. I will never forget his smile, his very contagious laugh and how he would always call me by my first name but call my husband (Dave) always Sgt. Sharpe. Camping at River Dale will never be the same without him! He will forever leave an impression on the people he met and a very deep imprint on the lives of the people that were lucky enough to call Shane their friend. He left way too soon and will be forever missed. Krista Sharpe (Rebecca's Mom).
