Obituary of Rhea Eleanor Burwash

On Sunday December 2, 2012 Rhea Burwash passed away at the St. Joseph's Integrated Health Center in Macklin, Saskatchewan at the age of 88 years. Rhea Eleanor Burwash, the only child of Rhea Victoria and John Lloyd Lewis, was born on December 7, 1923 in Toronto Ontario. Rhea did all of her schooling in Toronto and after completing a stenography course in June of 1942 she entered into the work force. It was in the fall of 1943 that she met Ray while he was serving with the RCAF. Following a courtship they were married on February 2, 1945 in Toronto. Once Ray was discharged they moved back to Macklin to live and raise four children on the family farm. Rhea enjoyed reading, curling, gardening (especially growing flowers), travelling and coffee with friends and neighbors. Rhea was a generous soul in words and actions, known for bringing a positive outlook to all that she did. She will be greatly missed by her children: Lewis (Florence), Eleanor (Allan), Ian (Laurie) and Elise (Willie); her grandchildren: Nadine (Justin), Normand, Todd (Kyla), Kelly (James), Janene (Robert), Craig and Chad; her great grandchildren: Harle, Brookelyn and Breanna; her sister-in-law Dorothy and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Ray; parents Rhea and John; brothers and sisters –in-law Lloyd (Billie), Wes (Ruth), Justin (Emma) and Harold.
