Obituary of Anna Winski
On Tuesday, October 7, 2014, Anna Winski (van der Wal) passed away peacefully in Edmonton at the age of 96. She is now with her Maker and loved ones gone before her. Anna is lovingly remembered by her children: Linda, James (Dora), Deb, Kevin and Cindy; her grandchildren, John (Pam) Winski, Theresa (Blake) Stubbington, Patrick (Sigrid) Winski, Linda (Andre) Blanchard, Nathan (Nicole) Winski; her 13 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews in Holland. Anna was predeceased by her husband, ‘Johnny’; her parents Johannes van der Wal and Alyda (nee Peters), her brothers and sister and their spouses: Hugo (Miep), Wim (Marie), Herman (Corrie),and Alijda (Jan). She was the eldest and outlived them all. Throughout her life she was a prophetic voice for justice wherever she perceived injustice. Prayers will be on Monday, October 13, 7:30 p.m. at Serenity Funeral chapel, 10129 – Princess Elizabeth Avenue, Edmonton and a Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, October 14,t 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Parish, 9830 – 148 Street, Edmonton with Father Leo Floyd officiating. A Graveside Service for Anna will be held in the Lloydminster Cemetery on Wednesday, October 15, at 11:30 a.m. with Father Rajappa Savariappan officiating. Heaven rejoices in receiving this wonderful soul who devoted her entire life to family, friends and those in need. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alberta Foster Parent Association would be appreciated.
