Obituary of Melvin George Sumner

On Thursday, October 16, 2014 Mr. Melvin Sumner of Irma, Alberta passed away at the Wainwright Health Centre at the age of 72 years. Mel is survived by his wife, Holly of Irma; four children, Colleen (Ric) Fecteau of Edmonton, Alberta, Todd (Wendy) Sumner of Sherwood Park, Alberta, Troy (Suzanne) Sumner of Sherwood Park, Meghan (Kent) Anderson of Irma; ten grandchildren, Ryan, Tanya, Kory, Josiah, Megan, Jesse, Michael, Aliese, Brett, Lex; his mother, Ethel (Herb) Cutrell; his step-mother, Jean Sumner; three brothers, Gerald Sumner, Les Cutrell, Kevin Sumner; one sister, Marion Wlos. He was predeceased by his father, Melvin Sumner Sr.; one sister, Audrey Dunsby; one sister-in-law, Virginia Cutrell, one brother-in-law, John Wlos. A Funeral service for the late Mr. Mel Sumner will be conducted on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 2:00 PM from the Irma School Auditorium, Irma with Reverend Anne McGrath officiating. Interment will follow in the Irma Cemetery. If so desired the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, Stollery Children’s Hospital or to STARS
