Obituary of Margaret Eugenie Biensch

BIENSCH, Margaret (Peggy) Eugenie July 25, 1928 – November 4, 2014. “Peggy” Biensch passed away the evening of Tuesday November 4, 2014 at the Lloydminster Hospital the age of 86 years. She is survived by three children and their spouses: David and Susan Biensch, Sharon and David Sims, Chris and Loree Biensch; grandchildren Guy (and Shawna) Biensch, Cassidy Biensch, Jason Biensch, Taylor Sims, Sydney, and Evan Biensch; and, great grandchildren Hannah and Jack Biensch. She is predeceased by loving husband John, in 2007, and son Eric in 2011. Born in Fisherton, Manitoba, 2.5 hours drive North of Winnipeg, she had rural beginnings in Fisher Branch where she spent much of her formative years. Trained as a teacher in Winnipeg, she was one of this country’s real pioneers, posted to Northern Manitoba, and accompanying John, an RCMP officer through a dozen transfers, moving family, home and all belongings each time for up to 6 children. Driving a dog team, hunting for meals and stretching rations were normal for Peggy, and she always found time for family and community. Her desire to learn continued when she moved West to Alberta with John for the cattle business, founding “Silver Anchor Ranch.” She learned to drive then (and parallel park) and always encouraged her children to acquire the highest level of education (post secondary was mandatory) possible. Involvement in community service and church were steadfast throughout. Her fortitude, creativity, and giving spirit will live on through her children, though she will be dearly missed. A funeral, with light lunch after, will occur at St. John’s Minster Anglican Church, 4709 – 49 Avenue Lloydminster, SK on November 15th, 2014 at 1:00 pm. Interment will occur at a later date for close friends and family at the RCMP Veteran's Cemetery located in Regina, SK. Donations for the Heart and Stroke Foundation will be gratefully accepted.
