Obituary of Roger Baughan
On Saturday, January 10, 2015 Mr. Roger Baughan of Wainwright, Alberta passed away at the Wainwright Hospital at the age of 81 years after a brave battle with cancer. Roger was predeceased by his parents, Jim and Mary Baughan; one sister, Bea Wheaton. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary, and his two daughters, Doris (Murray Millar) Baughan of Toronto, Darlene (Kevin Tomlinson) Baughan of Wainwright; two grandchildren, Colter (Shannon) Andersen and their daughter, Annabelle, Shae Tomlinson all of Wainwright; two brothers, Ken (Carolyn Emblem) Baughan, David (Gloria Estabrooks) Baughan; three sisters, Peggy (Paul) Morris, Barbara (Tom) Johnson; Nancy Baughan; his brother-in-law, Delanor Wheaton. Roger will be fondly remembered for his zest for life. When asked what he wanted for his 80th birthday he responded “to live”. He had a beautiful mind and spirit and he channeled that into many successful business ventures and one which lives on today in the 3rd generation General Insurance and Alberta Registry office, Baughan Agencies Ltd. He had a passion for travelling and made many trips all over the world. He was a Mexican at heart and was well known in Puerto Vallarta as Rogilio. He also had beautiful hands and spent many mostly happy hours on the golf course with his cronies betting for pennies and then dimes. He was very community minded. At the end his line was “No Regrets” A Funeral service for the late Roger Baughan will be conducted on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 1:00 PM from the Wainwright Elk’s Hall with Pastor Ryan Wood officiating. If so desired the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or to Operation Eyesight. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
