So sorry to just now find out about Steven’s passing, we were childhood friends and went to high school together at Lyndale school in Oungre Sk. We had many good times together at school , playing soft ball and foot ball and stayed at each others home a few times, Everyone was a friend of Steven, you could not help but like his warm friendly and kind personality, when he went away to school we lost touch , getting on with life ! Here is a picture from when we were probably 12/13 years old in my home built car, my hobby , Steven, myself (Cliff ) and Gary Offet of Lake Alma, I am Cliff Olson originally from Lake Alma, now in Langley BC

My most sincere condoleances to his wife Gayle and his family. I had the pleasure and the honor to work with Steve in the late 70s in Mackenzie North. Steve was a smart, very dedicated and engaged educator. His work ethic was incredible. He will be dearly missed.

Gayle & Family: Steve was a wonderful hard working and always thinking kind of man. He touched very many lives in his years. I would like to let you know that both Bob and myself feel very priviledged to have known Steve and worked with Steve. I always thought of Steve as a gentleman and a role model for this world. We both will miss his stories when he stopped by the store in the mall. May memories comfort yous today and in the days ahead. He is now not suffering and in no pain. In 1980 Steve hired me to start a new program at Fairview College. I showed up in mid-October, only to discover that there was no short-term accommodation in town to be had. Steve's solution: move Maridee out of her brand new bedroom, and bunk me in until I could find a place to stay. His generosity was supported by the entire family, and made me feel "at home" in Fairview. Steve's work ethic was legendary, and he led by example. He enjoyed huge respect from everyone whose life he touched. His kindness, support, and guidance changed many lives (including mine) for the better. Words simply can't begin to capture all the good Steve brought to this world. He will be sorely missed.
